Walmart Volt has evolved: Welcome, Scintilla In-Store.

Field teams working in Walmart stores are already familiar with Volt. It’s the mobile app used by third-party field representatives to check in and out, access readiness and compliance information, and complete tasks on behalf of suppliers in Walmart stores. However, in-store work can often be complex for field representatives, and outdated workflows can slow down everyday tasks. It’s time for the app to better support in-store success.

Enter: Scintilla In-Store

Scintilla is Walmart’s integrated insights ecosystem, administered by the Walmart Data Ventures team. Named after the Latin word for ‘spark’, Scintilla reflects the idea that even a small insight can drive meaningful business impact. The ecosystem transforms granular data into actionable intelligence that supports smarter decisions for suppliers and the teams who support them. 

Scintilla In-Store now brings that same Walmart ecosystem into our physical stores by connecting data to execution where it matters most: in the field. Behind the scenes, the platform uses the same item and modular information Walmart store associates rely on, enabling field reps to complete supplier-assigned tasks and support in-stock execution for Walmart’s customers.

One Data-Powered Tool to Do It All

Built around real Volt user feedback, Scintilla In-Store brings essential tasks, tools, and information into a centralized, easy-to-use, insights-powered mobile app. This enables supplier field representatives to prepare more  effectively, complete store visits more efficiently, and improve oversight of product availability, resulting in more consistent field execution and a stronger experience for Walmart customers

The Walmart Volt app will update to Scintilla In-Store beginning in late February. Field reps can simply open the app, log in, and begin using Scintilla In-Store—no download required. (Note: If automatic updates are turned off, the field rep should check for updates manually.)
